Legend has it that the scarf was created overnight by artist Accornero for Grace Kelly. It owes its name to Sandro Botticelli's painting "Flora," housed in Florence's Uffizi Museum — the very artwork that inspired the artist when he painted the flowers. The "Flora" scarf became Gucci's hallmark and is still produced by the brand today. It forms the basis of all collections and is a favorite silk scarf among fashionistas worldwide.March 22, 1966
