Faux pearls are the leitmotif of Italian jewelry created in the 1980s/90s. It features a decorative gilded metal clasp adorned with glitter. There is a hallmark on the back of the clasp. The special knotting technique, where a knot is made after each "pearl," is exclusively a vintage handmade technique and is not found in modern jewelry.
